A look inside the game

Updated: Jan 4, 2018

Five: Journey to the Truth (5JT3) is an cooperative board game set in the fantasy and sci-fi genre. With five compelling characters and worlds, the players must work together to defeat the board. Each game is considered one episode in the Sult Galaxy, taking place on one of the character's home planets. Until all the villains are defeated, the universe is not safe. Currently there are 15 villains the Five are aware of.

Your team must make the right decisions to lead you to the enemy's lair. Fight your way to the final boss and defeat them, knowing that every step takes you closer to a greater enemy.

5JT3 is divided into three stages: Reconnaissance, Dungeon, and Boss.

The game begins with a distress call from a planet in the Sult Galaxy, giving players a brief understanding of the danger, but no clear instruction on where they will find their answers. They must explore the local area and investigate.

If you prefer to read you can use the Story Booklet to guide you,

otherwise the Audio Book can lead you, serving as the narrator of your journey.

The goal of the first stage is to find the location of the villain's lair. Finding that location will automatically make the Players enter the dungeon stage.

In the dungeon stage, the Five must work together to defeat the minions that will randomly ambush the party. The dungeons are face down hexagonal tiles, randomly assigned with either a "Clear" or "Attack + a number of attackers." (Ex: Attack 3).

Combat is turn based, where the Five's combat choices are considered one turn, and the enemy's retaliation is considered another. Each player has a speciality class with charms and melee attacks. They can use a weaker auto attack, or roll to dole out serious damage, but each skill has a roll requirement.

The team as a whole must strategize how best to tackle the dungeon and keep all members alive and strong, because the battle has just begun. ENTER BOSS STAGE. Same game mechanics, higher stakes.
